UICS Celebrity Look Alikes

This year, UICS Universal Institute Charter School (UICS) decided to celebrate PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) during or week long Spirit Week by having a Celebrate Look-Alike Day under the direction of Principal Jeffrey Williams! Dress like a star, perform like a star was truly the brainchild of Principal Williams and his staff to get students excited about taking the state of Pennsylvania standardized testing. Staff and scholars alike participated in this fun-filled activity. The students were extremely excited and they all embraced being a celebrity for the day. 3rd grader, Jahcir Davis came away the winner w/his appearance as Michael B. Jordan in the block buster hit, “Black Panther”.

Universal Institute Charter School is founded by Songwriter/Producer and the creator of the Philadelphia Sound, Kenny Gamble and his wife. The mission of UICS is to provide a school to career academic program that emphasizes self-sufficiency, civic responsibility and problem solving through mathematics, language arts and the sciences. The educational program utilizes community resources within the school’s immediate neighborhood through a variety of before, during, and after school partnerships with families, businesses, social agencies, civic groups and community organizations to enhance the academic program and to support students and their families.
